So Katie and I have been dating for 5 months this month yet it feels more like 1 year. She is an amazing girl and we are both very happy together which is kind of an important piece to the puzzle. Ha-ha. We have two little terror's that always keep us amused. The yorkie is Mason and the Pomapoo (Pomeranian poodle) is Luca.
We have been doing a lot together, trying to do as many new things as possible. So far we've gone on a spur of the moment road trip we went through Phili and got a hardcore Phili steak and cheese sandwich with cheese whiz and sautéed mushrooms and onions (I have never felt like I wanted to poop more than after I ate that sandwich.lol.)
Then we drove through D.C. and did a speed tour just driving past all the important sites, we're not much in favor of all the touristy stuff. After that we proceeded south to Virginia where we spent a couple days with her extended family, and it was a blast!
On our way back we decided to take the scenic route which ended up being about a 6 hour drive through the deep woods of Virginia, reminded me of something out of a horror movie. While we were driving I was enjoying the scenery when WHAM! An animal hit my car; I thought it was a raccoon or something so I kept driving. Katie then informed me that an owl had just hit my car. I went back to check it out and sure enough this huge beautiful owl was lying crippled on the side of the road. I wanted to make sure that it was dead so I moved it and it twitched, I couldn’t believe it so I grabbed a blanket I had in the back of the car and wrapped it up to take it to a ranger station. We drove 45 minutes back to the ranger station at which that time had just closed. While we were driving the owl starting freaking out and trying to get away, Katie is terrified of any bird so this was quit eventful, I could barely hold on to him anymore so we got out of the car and let him out and luckily he flew up to the nearest tree. Thankfully he wasn't too badly hurt; he was just stunned so when he came to he wanted to get away. We named him Homer.
I went to Florida to visit and meet her immediate family who live in Ft. Myers in a beautiful
home on the river. We went to the beach about 3 days in a row, it was an amazing 80 degrees
meanwhile back in New York it was 20 and snowing. That was a lot of fun and on Saturday night I made a HUGE Mexican fiesta with homemade Seron chips and homemade guacamole and salsa, mom's famous stacked enchiladas, fajitas, Spanish cilantro rice, and black beans. Everyone raved about it.
One of our favorite things to do here in the city is try new restaurants every week. Being in Manhattan, there is an endless supply of restaurants to try out so it never get's old. We love and appreciate food like a fat kid and a cupcake. Lol!
In a couple of days I am flying to Costa Rica to meet up with Katie and her friends, the wait is killing me! Especially because I know that she is already there basking on the beach. I am so excited to go; I will put up pictures when I get back in a week. So that should fill you in a little on the two of us......for now.
